This rare side-by-side comparison of Bogie at different ages (ages 42 and 30) comes from a December 5, 1942, article in the The Pittsburgh Press. In the article, Bogart explains he became an actor because he needed work after leaving military service at the end of World War I. Bogie said: “I had to eat - so I joined the softest of rackets. I became an actor.”
